Hydrosols are created during the distillation of essential oils. Formerly, the precious plant waters were mostly discarded, since they were regarded as worthless. The transportation and storage of hydrosols is significantly more complicated and costly than that of essential oils, especially when they are not preserved. Preservatives can impair the health benefits of the hydrosol, which is why we do without additives. We only bottle pure hydrosol. Fortunately, the advantages of hydrosol are being researched more and more, as a result, they are used with increasing appreciation.
In contrast to essential oils, hydrosols are so mild that even particularly sensitive people usually tolerate them well, since the active ingredients are strongly diluted. Thus, they are suitable for baby care and even animals. Hydrosols contain the water-soluble constituents of the distilled plant material. In this case it is the resin of the frankincense species Boswellia carterii (Beeyo).
The scent is bittersweet, with a certain heaviness. Fruity, honeylike notes are perceptible. The fragrance of our frankincense hydrosol is intense but not intrusive at first, then it moderately lingers in the background, as it is the character of frankincense.
Please note that the pleasant scent of our nourishing hydrosol can evolve in peculiar ways on the skin of some people. You can use the hydrosol as a room spray, in ultrasound diffusers that are filled with water, or in an aroma lamp instead of water. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend putting our hydrosol into the ONA diffuser, since we don’t have any longtime experience with this mode of application yet. In principle, however, it can also be atomised in it.
