It stretches from Oman via Yemen to the Syrian Damascus. Traditionally, frankincense resin has been used for ceremonial incensing due to its pleasant scent. In Eastern Africa, the home of our premium frankincense resin, the aromatic resin found its way into various spiritual rituals.Interesting for Science: Frankincense Resin &  Boswellic Acids

Meanwhile, studies conducted in the West also point to the medical potential of frankincense for many different applications. Boswellic acids are found in frankincense dry extract, some of which are considered pharmacologically active components of the resin. Research into the anti-inflammatory effects of constituents in some incense varieties is in full swing – we are happy to share the latest results with you.  You can find more below under active ingredients!

The Basis of our Products

The Basis for Frankincense Oil, Our Most Important Product, Is the Classic Frankincense Resin. From It, We Get Essential Oils and Hydrosols, or the Extract. It is a gum resin, which is extracted from the sap of the Boswellia species. Besides bitter substances, natural gum and boswellic acids, essential oils are found in the natural resin of the frankincense tree.Depending on the desired application, our frankincense oil can be absorbed via skin or the respiratory tract. Both ways of absorption are effective and promote well-being. After a compatibility test on a blank skin patch, the essential oil can also be used for pure application on a small skin area. However, we recommend the use in dilution, as the active ingredients are highly concentrated. It is simply not necessary to use pure essential oil, and diluted application saves resources as well.Almond, jojoba or avocado oil are wonderful bases to dilute our valuable essential oils.Pregnant women, people with a tendency to migraine and other sensitivities should use frankincense essential oil with special care, as in rare cases, even the highest quality essential oil can cause discomfort, which might be by metabolic activation. On the other hand, some people report relief of migraine when using frankincense oil. So it should be decided individually.
